Signs of Reinin in socionics

Signs of Reinin are fifteen pairs of mutually opposite signs of a person's personality type.
In 1980, Aušra Augustinavičiūtė and Larisa Kobrinska proposed that in addition to the four dichotomies proposed by Jung, there are 11 more dichotomous features formed when the Jung dichotomies multiply.

Jung's classic dichotomies are:
From this it follows that all socionic types can be classically divided into 2 groups (8 types in each) 4 times:
  • 8 logicians and 8 ethicists,
  • 8 sensors and 8 intuitives,
  • 8 extroverts and 8 introverts,
  • 8 rationals and 8 irrationals.

The assumption of Augustinavičiūtė and Kobrinskaya is based on the fact that any 16 units can be divided into two groups in 15 different ways. This was mathematically proved by the mathematician from St. Petersburg Grigory Romanovich Reinin in his article"The Group of Bipolar Traits in the Typology of C. Jung".

Signs of Reinin are now used in determining personality type (typing) by many schools of socionics. They believe that for the correct determination of the type, the identification of 4 Jungian signs is often not enough.

For example, a conflictor differs from a dual only one sign of "rationality-irrationality".  However, if we consider all the signs of Reinin, there are much more differences. The signs inherent in you personally can be seen in your socionic passport.

Let us consider in more detail all the signs of Reinin:
