Yielding vs Obstinate

According to the method of conquering living space and defending their views, people in socionics are divided into Yielding and Obstinate. At the heart of this feature is a different degree of willingness to spend their resources to achieve the goal. For the Yielding, their needs are more important, they tend to give up resources, not to enter into a confrontation.  The Obstinate ones adjust their needs to the available resources, which they defend in every possible way.

Упрямые и уступчивые в соционике

Yielding determines for himself the maximum limit of Yielding, to transgress which is dangerous for him. Up to this limit, by gradual concessions, he adjusts his needs to the opportunities available to him. Having crossed the line, he cancels all his concessions, compensating for the damage done to him, often in a very cruel way. Don't corner such people.
Yielding includes:

Obstinate people are inclined to search for new resources to achieve the goal.   They consider each new situation from the point of view of improving the conditions for themselves, and having improved, they will fight in every possible way for their rights and privileges, without conceding an inch.

In an effort to "live better", Obstinate they often lose their sense of proportion, which is why they often remain at the "broken trough". Unable to win, they return to their original positions and strengthen them for the future.

Obstinate include:

Do not think that Obstinate - strong strong-willed personalities, and Yielding spineless opportunists. At the heart of this dichotomy is the principle of personal values. Victory is a relative thing. Obstinate simply do not tend to change their desires and a difficult goal may even become more attractive to them.

Yielding consider senseless principled movement towards the goal, if the goal itself is no longer attracted. We can say that for the Yielding the goal itself is important, and for the Obstinate - the way to achieve it.
