Sensing and Intuitive in socionics

According to the way of perceiving the surrounding reality, people are divided into sensors and intuitionists.

What is sensory and intuition in the understanding of socionics? Take the model of society in the form of an anthill. In ants, there is a clear division of individuals according to the functions performed into scout ants, which explore the world around them in search of food, and worker ants that support the very existence of an anthill.

In humans, "scouts" are intuitionists who know the world, and "worker ants" are sensory skills and knowledge who are able to use the acquired skills and knowledge.

Sensors have a specific mindset that allows them to notice details well. To understand what is at stake, the sensory specialist needs to see the details of the situation from which he builds the overall picture. It can be difficult for them to grasp the general essence if nuances escape their attention.  Intuition can "think" these missing details based on the overall picture.

The sensor is "here and now". This is a realist, firmly standing on his feet, it is not peculiar to him to look into the future. He has a great sense of the present. Unlike intuition, sensory is more collected and focused on current events. Therefore, they easily cope with concrete, everyday work that requires concentration on the subject of labor. If the sensory receives a good material return, he will be satisfied with routine work that excludes non-standard approaches. Because of this quality, sensors are practical, well-adapted to everyday life people.

Sensors are people of practice. They are strong in the implementation of ideas and ideas, it is thanks to them that ideas acquire a concrete, material outline in the world. Much of what surrounds us was created by the hands of sensors, although it was invented by intuitionists.

Sensors well feel the quality of objects, clothes, food. Able to distinguish the slightest shades in tastes and smells. Confidently organize the space, strong in matters of comfort and ergonomics. They satisfy their bodily needs in the first place, but they can also feel that it will be uncomfortable for another person.

Sensors don't feel time well. They worry if they are late, and therefore may prefer to leave much earlier than necessary to come just in time. Due to the fact that sensors constantly monitor the current moment, it can be difficult for them to look into the future, and feel the opportunities that the situation carries. Poorly anticipating the future, sensors live in the present day or the nearest, guaranteed perspective.

The remaining 8 personality types belong to the Intuitionists.

Intuitionist thinks "globally", they have abstract thinking directed from the general to the particular. Intuitions quickly grasp the essence, paying little attention to detail. To understand what it is about, intuition, unlike sensory, you need to see the whole picture, and he perceives the details as a consequence of the general idea. In the cognition of the surrounding reality, intuitionists perfectly use the method of deduction, that is, the movement of thought from the abstract to the concrete.

Intuitive types are focused on the future of society. Put forward and develop innovations mainly intuition. These "scout ants" shape the future of society and ensure its development.

When there is a lack of facts and the task is confusing, intuition is very effective. For intuition, it is natural to think through numerous options and ways to solve the problem, making a choice. Because of this, the choice can be delayed, and the intuitions themselves seem scattered and hushing in the clouds.  Because of their absent-mindedness, intuitions can be forgetful, slow in everyday life, inattentive to their physical needs. Their appearance is careless, and in the workplace and at home there is usually a "creative mess". Intuition needs a sensory partner who would take on issues related to the organization of comfort and cohesion.

Intuitive types lag far behind sensory in terms of manual skills. Routine, mundane work knocks them out of the rut, as they are difficult to concentrate on the real process. In everyday life, intuitionists are impractical, poorly adapted to the struggle for survival. If they like to do something with their hands, it is to create and create unique things.

A good example of a sensory is Winnie the Pooh, who always clearly knows what he wants and approaches everything from a practical point of view. And Piglet, on the contrary, is a typical intuition hovering in the clouds.
