The Suggestive function

suggestive function

Suggestive function (from the Latin suggestio -suggestion) also called the dual-seeking function in Model A is a weak unconscious part of the psyche responsible for the assimilation of the child's accumulated knowledge.  "Just do it and don't think so."

According to the suggestive function, a person needs help and advice, perceives incoming information uncritically and with gratitude, and willingly believes any such information. If you want to "hang noodles on someone's ears," do it to that weak feature.

All personality types have areas where a person unconditionally believes everything they are told. And he believes immediately and does not make attempts to verify this information.

The information model of the psyche in socionics determines which aspect fills the suggestive function in each personality type.

Consider the manifestations of the base for all possible aspects:

Extraverted intuition, aka Black Intuition (Ne) or "intuition of possibilities"

Dumas

Gabin

The intuition of possibilities is a suggestive function in Dumas and Gabin.

Both believe everything unusual, love fiction, non-standard theories and statements, because they need something unusual and fresh. However, they don't know what.

In addition, they do not distinguish the really possible from fakes and can believe in completely unprecedented stories.

Логика

Suggestible introverted logic, aka White Logic (Ti) or "Structural Logic"

Hamlet

Hugo

The Structural Logic is suggestive in Hamlet and Hugo.

These people from childhood love to be explained something to them: how atoms are arranged, who is stronger than a tiger or a lion, and the like. They enjoy watching all sorts of popular science programs and love to retell them.

Still suggestible white logicians are among the few who study various instructions and rules.

Suggestible Extraverted Ethics, aka Black Ethics (Fe) or "Emotive Ethics"

Robespierre

Maxim

The Emotive Ethics is suggestible in Robespierre and Maxime.

Both are not critical of other people's emotions. Both are quite sentimental and sensitive, so someone else's laughter, tears or fear is always taken at face value. This is a good way to get the usually judicious and unemotional Max and Rob to comply with the request without delving deeply into its background.

They especially appreciate people who give them positive emotions and may not notice gross flattery.

Интуиция

Suggestible introverted intuition, aka White Intuition (Ni) or "temporal intuition"

Zhukov

Napoleon

The Temporal intuition is suggestive in Zhukov and Napoleon, who do not feel timeliness at all and often do not understand that at the moment something is required of them.

Both respect accuracy and punctuality, so they often listen to advice regarding the timing and duration of actions. They believe in signs and various predictions and can puncture on this, especially if the adviser with intuition does not have very time.

They constantly feel the need to foresee the future and need assistants to make plans that will correctly tell you when to start and how long it will last.

Extraverted sensory, aka Black Sensing (Se) or "Volitional Sensing"

Balzac

Yesenin

Volitional sensing is a suggestive function in Balzac and Yesenin.

Both are quite soft and sophisticated, so it is difficult for them to resist direct force pressure. Balzac and Yesenin appreciate partners who are able to protect against such pressure. They themselves are not averse to doing this, so they listen to the advice of such partners.

To develop an emergency, they are interested in various ways of self-defense, although in practice they cannot always apply this.

Этика

Suggestible Introverted Ethics, aka White Ethics (Fi) or "Relational Ethics"

Stirlitz

Jack London

Relational Ethics are suggestive in Stirlitz and Jack.
Such people are characterized by the desire to get as much information as possible about people and their relationships in order to know how to communicate with them. They themselves are poorly versed in this, but they are very much concerned about how others treat them.

They can be gullible or overly suspicious. Therefore, they are looking for people with high moral values as partners who will give the right advice on how and where to behave, will not deceive at the same time and will take on part of the moral responsibility.

Without such clues, they can behave incorrectly in an unfamiliar company, so they become attached to a well-known team, for fear of losing established relationships.

Suggestible Extraverted Logic, aka Black Logic (Te) or "Practical logic"

Dreiser

Dostoevsky

Practical logic is suggestible in Dreiser and Dostoevsky.

People of this type of personality like to collect useful tips. Both quite easily adopt standard technological techniques and do a good job, where methods and goals are clearly indicated and try not to invent anything new where everything works.

Since business advice is not treated critically, they can choose the wrong course of action, a recipe or get carried away by dubious enterprises. Choosing from equivalent options is not their strong point, so people who can clearly set the task and indicate ways to solve it need.

Сенсорика

Introverted Sensing, aka White Sensing (Si) or "Experiential Sensing"

Don Quixote

Hexley

Experiential Sensing is a suggestive function in Don Quixote and Huxley.

They like to receive information about self-care, apartment design, a healthy lifestyle. They willingly talk about this and offer various ideas to improve comfort.

Their main problem is that they do not always understand the reason for their poor health. Both can forget to eat, rest, overheat in the sun or vice versa, sitting in a draft, get sick. Therefore, all their knowledge accumulated in this area leads to nothing if there is no one nearby who will create a comfortable environment and tell you in time how to dress for the weather and establish everyday life.
