Intuition of possibilities (or Black Intuition) in socionics

Black Intuition of possibilities

Black Intuition predicts changes in a person's external environment (as opposed to White Intuition, which is the inner sense of time).  This concerns the identification of hidden internal abilities of people, objects and phenomena, determining the probability of events and making predictions.

Therefore, its second name is Intuition of possibilities. Black Intuition is our soothsayer – our Vanga.

Intuition in Model A is indicated by a triangle icon. The intuition of possibilities is directed to the surrounding world, i.e. extraverted, and since the criterion of extroversion in this model is usually denoted by black, such intuition is called black and is indicated by a black triangle Черная интуиция icon. In the MBTI typology it is called "extraverted inNtuition" (Ne)

People with strong Black Intuition are generators of ideas. They perfectly see all the options for the development of processes and are able to determine the most likely result. Most inventors are strong black Intuition, they see the hidden potential of objects and come up with new ways to use them. Ne allows people to make the right choices from seemingly identical options.

If the intuition of possibilities is weak, then a person never knows what to expect from life and is constantly waiting for a trick. In addition, they have trouble choosing from equivalent opportunities, not being able to predict what will be best.

Consider how Ne manifests itself in different personality types corresponding to different functions of model A:

Base function

Base Black Intuition

The Base function is the basis of the personality and intellect of a person, his view of life.

Don Quixote

Hexley

Intuition of possibilities is a Base function in Don Quixote and Huxley.

Don, as a logician, is more interested in the knowledge of the world as such, he is attracted to unusual theories and solutions he often offers extraordinary. Among the inventors there are a lot of Dons.

Huxley, as an ethic, is more of interest to people. He can make the right impression of a person in the first minutes of communication and decide what can be expected from this person.

Creative function

Creative Black Intuition

A creative function is a way of communicating with the outside world and solving problems at any given moment.

Robespierre

Dostoevsky

The intuition of possibilities is a creative function in Robespierre and Dostoevsky.

Robespierre is quite good at assessing the prevailing conditions in each specific situation, as well as being able to determine the capabilities of people. And by his actions he is trying to test this in practice.  He is calm about failures, because he believes that in addition to the conditions known to him, there are also hidden, unknown circumstances and it is only necessary to find them.

Dostoevsky tries to see positive character traits in each person, so he can work very successfully as a teacher. He believes that good traits can be developed and negative ones can be corrected by applying patience and ingenuity. Sometimes his conclusions turn out to be wrong because he is wishful thinking and relies on his stereotypes in people's behavior.

Role function

Role Black Intuition

Role function is a mask: what a person wants to appear to be, who he claims to be.

Zhukov

Napoleon

Intuition of possibilities is a role function in Zhukov and Napoleon.

Role-playing Extraverted intuition try to give the impression of a person who is far-sighted and reasonable, who knows everything about everyone. They like to talk about their influence and coolness, often lying and starting to believe it themselves.

However, faced with the first difficulties, they forget about their plans and begin to look for a way out of the situation.

Vulnerable function

Vulnerable Black Intuition

Vulnerable function is its weakest human trait, its vulnerable place.

Maxim

Dreiser

Intuition of possibilities is a Vulnerable function in Maxim and Dreiser.

Maxes avoid any uncertainty and try to eliminate ambiguities from their lives. They need to know everything in advance. They are afraid of surprises and expect a trick from each situation, and if something really happens, it is difficult for them to find a way out of the situation.

Dreisers have difficulty choosing the right solution, not being able to predict what will be best. This is not the case when they know exactly what they need. Here they cope quite well.

They do not like to make a choice even in the simplest everyday situations. If, in response to your request, which implies the possibility of choice, Dreiser does something wrong, it will spoil his mood for a long time, and he will then spoil it for you, because it was you who did not formulate your request clearly and clearly.

Suggestive function

Suggestive Black Intuition

The Suggestive function is responsible for the assimilation of knowledge accumulated by society by a person.

Dumas

Gabin

The intuition of possibilities is a Suggestive function in Dumas and Gabin.

Both believe everything unusual, love fiction, non-standard theories and statements, because they need something unusual and fresh. However, they don't know what.

In addition, they do not distinguish the really possible from fakes and can believe in completely unprecedented stories.

Mobilizing function

Activating Black Intuition

The Mobilizing function regulates a person's actions for compliance with the norms accepted in society through self-assessment of actions.

Hugo

Stirlitz

The intuition of possibilities is an Mobilizing function in Jugo and Stirlitz.

Such people appreciate the unusualness in life, and try to find non-standard ways to solve problems. But not understanding which of the options of activity is actually promising, both prefer proven methods in their work, which are positively evaluated and recommended by authoritative people.

Limiting function

Defensive Black Intuition

The Limiting function serves to protect the individual from unpleasant or dangerous outside influences.

Balzac

Yesenin

Intuition of possibilities is a Limiting function in Balzac and Yesenin.

Subconsciously understanding the possibilities of objects, people and phenomena, these people defend themselves by denying the correctness of undesirable actions and accusing people of incompetence. If someone persistently imposes their opinion on them, they fight back with phrases like "it doesn't happen that way", "you don't know, don't tell".

Black Intuition is practically not used by them in ordinary life, but it works perfectly at critical moments, preventing disasters. For example, in Balzac at the last moment can withdraw money from the bank, which will burst in a day, and Yesenin unexpectedly interrupt a dangerous acquaintance.

Demonstrative function

Demonstrative Black Intuition

The Demonstrative function is responsible for the correct instantaneous unconscious reactions in everyday life.

Hamlet

Jack London

The intuition of possibilities is the Demonstrative of Hamlet and Jack.

People of this type "with the spinal cord feel" the prospects and possibilities of the world around them and seize on the most attractive.

They are sure that they will never miss their chance and get out of any difficult situation. And for them it is so natural that they are surprised when these opportunities are not used by others. Hamlet, as an ethician, associates most of the possibilities with the behavior of people, and the logician Jack with the objectively existing situation.
