Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku is an anime series based on the manga of the same name by Yuji Kaku. The action takes place in the Edo period in Japan. A group of people sentenced to death are looking for the elixir of immortality. Each convict is assigned the executioner Yamada Asaemon, with whom they must return to receive a pardon.
