Personality types of 'Grand Blue' characters

The anime series Grand Blue: Dreaming  (Japanese: ぐらんぶる) is a Japanese comedy series based on the manga of the same name by Kenji Inoue and Kimitake Yoshioka. The first season premiered in 2018. The main character, Iori Kitahara, enters university and moves in with his uncle, the owner of the Grand Blue diving shop. Iori joins the university diving club Peek a Boo, where instead of a quiet student life, he finds himself surrounded by wild parties, countless pranks, and absurd situations. At the same time, the characters genuinely take part in diving activities and gradually discover the underwater world.

The second season of “Grand Blue: Dreaming” premiered in 2025, continuing the story of Iori and his friends. The third season premiered in July 2026. The story moves beyond Japan as Iori and his friends travel to Palau, where they encounter new adventures involving diving.
